August - Harry
A Heartwarming Story of Harry,
SKER's only Permanent Resident
One dark and stormy night, SKER received a call to their hotline concerning a little koala joey who had been found in a puddle. Despite their best efforts, rescuers could not retrieve Harry's mother who was perched high in a tree. When they returned the next day, she was gone.
Harry, who was a mere 580gms, was quickly warmed up and taken care of by the team at SKER, with round the clock bottle feeds and care.
Unfortunately, Harry was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, a genetic condition that made it impossible for him to be released into the wild. Special permission was sought from the government to keep Harry permanently at SKER, where he has been a beloved resident ever since.
Harry now spends his days in his custom built open air enclosure where he has his own 10m high Eucalypt tree, receives a fresh supply of a variety of eucalyptus leaves daily, as well as his own misting system and shade for hot days, nothing but the best for Harry.
