Cherry Ripe
Rescued : 06/11/2024 Reason: Abandoned Weight: 724g Sex: Female
Cherry Ripe's rehabilitation journey began with a perilous fall from a 6-meter gum tree. Our dedicated rescue team swiftly arrived to her aid, discovering her alone and vulnerable.
We suspect Cherry Ripe is an incredibly rare koala joey twin. A local property owner had spotted a mother koala carrying two precious bundles of joy just days before.
Unfortunately, the mother and her other baby moved on before we could bring them in for further assessment.
Koala twins are an extraordinary rarity, and it's even more extraordinary for both to survive without human care.
Thanks to the swift actions of our rescue team, Cherry Ripe is safe and thriving.
How I got my name: Sticking with our chocolate bar theme Cherry Ripe’s name was easy as she was rescued from a town called Cherry Gardens.
Favourite eucalypt to eat: Grey Box (Eucalyptus Microcarpa)

Sherbet
Rescued : 11/02/2025 Reason: Health concerns Weight: 2.01kg Sex: Male
Sherbert, a tiny koala joey, arrived with his sick mum, whose illness caused her to stop producing milk. Sadly, her distress led to her biting Sherbert, and they began isolating themselves from each other. Faced with a difficult choice, the team separated them..
Alone and vulnerable, Sherbert was then introduced to Caramilk, another orphaned joey. The two instantly bonded, finding comfort and companionship in their shared situation. This heartwarming connection was exactly what Sherbert needed to thrive.
The next step was joining the "koala kindergarten," where Sherbert and Caramilk met Cherry Ripe and Peppermint. The four joeys quickly became inseparable, exploring, eating, and learning together. It was a joy to see Sherbert transform from a solitary joey to a happy member of a koala creche.
How I got my name: Sticking with our sweet theme, Sherbet was from Flagstaff hill he came into care with his mum who was called Fizz to link the F and so bubs followed the fizzy theme with Sherbet.
Favourite eucalypt to eat: SA Blue Gum (Eucalyptus Leucoxylon)
