Peppermint was lucky to have a brave mother who fought to protect her, even while suffering from a severe knee injury. Her knee was irreparably damaged, with bone loss and cartilage deterioration. Anyone who has experienced a knee replacement can empathise with the immense pain her would have been enduring.
While our hearts ached at the thought of ending her suffering, we knew it was the most humane course of action. This left Peppermint orphaned, a heartbreaking reality. However, a glimmer of hope emerged in the form of an almost instant bond that blossomed between Peppermint and Cherry Ripe.
There are many costs involved in hand raising Peppermint including koala milk powder, custom joey climbing frames, trips to source fresh food and regular vet checks and testing by our onsite vet to ensure she is healthy and well.
