$50.00

A stroke of luck, albeit born from misfortune, brought Billie Boo into our care. Found helpless in the middle of the road by a compassionate passerby, this Boobook owl was unable to fly, the obvious victim of a collision with a vehicle whose driver remained unknown. The urgency of Billie Boo's situation was immediately apparent, and our rescue team sprang into action to bring the injured owl to our clinic.

Billie Boo's initial examination quickly revealed a fractured leg, but the inability to fly remained a puzzle. Sadly, X-rays confirmed the devastating news: a fractured wing as well. However, this wasn't the end of Billie Boo's journey. Our skilled veterinary team expertly splinted the fractured leg and surgically repaired the wing, using a pin to stabilise it. Due to poor blood flow in bird legs it was determined that a splint would lead to the best outcome. The pin and splint are slated for removal in a few weeks, and following a period of rehabilitation to rebuild strength, we are optimistic that Billie Boo will once again soar through the skies

Sponsoring Billie Boo's rehabilitation with a once of $50AUD covers essential veterinary assessments and specialized food during their recovery. Your support is instrumental in offering Billie Boo a second chance at a thriving life in the wild, despite their daunting road to recovery.
